Austin Plant-Lover's Personal Brand Photoshoot
You've got to check out this personal brand photoshoot for Michelle, owner of Austin's first plant truck! This brand session is full of greenery, joy, and is sure to be a plant-lover's delight.
Turns out this day was one of the hottest days in Austin. You can't tell by looking at her brand imagery, but we had a lot to think about. Combine the heat and blinding sun with a hot mobile truck full of plants and you have to move quickly!
Michelle was such a trooper despite it all. We had so much fun even through the challenges we had to manage!
Like most of my clients, she felt overwhelmed when she reached out to me about booking her Signature Brand Photoshoot. Who wouldn't be? A brand session is an important investment and often comes alongside an already busy life and business. In this case, she runs Austin's first-ever plant truck, holds down another job, and is a busy mom and wife. (How do you ladies do all of that!?)
With her workload, she hadn't been showing up in her business personally. Ready to change that, however, she also shared that she didn't find it natural to be the one in front of the camera.
I understand this feeling well. It's a huge part of why I'm so passionate about being a photographer for women.
Just reaching out for help can take a lot of courage. Speaking with her, I knew we could change her thoughts and experience around photography. And on top of that, we could get her excited to show up on her social media grid and website for the first time ever.
The ALP Signature Brand Photo Experience was perfect for her needs because I crafted it with clients like Michelle in mind. When you are busy and overwhelmed, it's easy to put off showing up visually in your business. You may know you're ready to elevate your brand and business imagery or to start showing your face more in your business, but you are looking for support.
You want someone who helps you capture the best version of yourself... and makes the process as easy and supportive as possible. I get this so much that I've designed my whole business around this!
That's why I use strategy, planning, and work to understand your heart through the pre-session process. You deserve a personal brand photoshoot with a well-thought-out experience and an excited teammate that results in beautiful and impactful imagery.
Here's what Michelle had to say after her first Austin brand photoshoot experience:
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
This was one of the best experiences since starting my business. Alicia not only took incredible photos but also helped me conceptualize what I want my business to look like. She was so organized and responsive and literally took care of all the details. As if that wasn't enough she was also fun and full of energy. If you're looking for someone to help you level up your business look no further.
Michelle sources rare and unique plants of all sizes for her amazing truck. She even offers cute plant accessories. She can often be found around Austin, especially at weekend events. You can learn more about her here.
If you're also feeling ready to start showing more of the person behind the business (you), let's chat! I'd love to help you get started and I'll hold your hand along the way!

It can be hard to feel ready for your own professional branding photos, especially when you're newer to business or you've never had your own brand shoot before. These at-home Austin brand photos are some of my favorites. Not just because I sincerely adore these two and what they're all about -- can't you just feel their love and support in these images? This is totally who they ARE-- but also because their images convey a genuine sense of welcoming and care. The photos give you a true read on who these two are as business owners and a team and they put you right at home.
Come tour a "day in the life" with this duo in their brand images below. You'll see how Holly serves her sweet clients with her awesome teammate (and Husband), AJ, and their chunky sidekick, Turbo.
These Austin brand photos for a local copywriter take a fresh, edgy spin to capture her personal brand. It is one of my new favorite sessions to date!
For her personal brand session, we incorporated her love for plants and floral elements and her beloved brand "mascot", her dog, Yoda, into her brand photography session. Heather is a bright and quirky person so her photos needed to reflect that. We wanted her session to be creative and personal and to show her heart for animals, her love for the environment, and how these things influence her beauty standards and approach to her services.
Your brand photos are not only about you.
Branding photography is a chance for us to communicate with the people we want to be reaching. To speak directly to them.
But you don’t want to speak to everyone. If you’re speaking to everyone, you’re reaching no one.
Maybe you think photos of yourself never turn out well (I have a way of helping you show up beautifully and naturally on camera). Or maybe you’re someone, like Monique here, who as she put it, “has never had proper photos taken”. Let’s embrace your inner goddess and let her shine so you can actually feel good about sending people to your website and really start making those bucks.
How do you make the most of your Austin brand photo shoot? You know you need headshots and new website photos, but you are ready to stand out from the sea of same. You want unique Austin personal brand photography that is a true reflection of your spirit, and communicates your offering but isn’t tired and lame.
How often do I need truly new brand photos anyway? At least once a year.
Branding photography is not a one-and-done deal. As your business evolves, so do you, and so should your personal branding photos.
How do I know it's time to book my brand photography session?
Have you caught yourself wondering “should I start thinking about my own personal brand photos?” Yes? Then you’re likely already in need of planning for your own shoot.
If you’re wondering whether to photograph your personal branding photos on location or in my Austin studio, my typical response is usually…
“Well, it depends.”

The main goal for this Austin Branding Photo Session was to attract a high-end market that trusted Robin with the creative control and direction of their design project while getting the sense that she was artistic and fun. This drove several of our creative and stylistic decisions… we wanted to establish credibility and also create a bit of creative edge.
With the “Human-First” approach, Megan reminds us to prioritize our humanity while running a business, in essence putting our mental health and well-being at the forefront so that we can then in turn be overall better business owners and contributors to the world (including our own, obviously).
This drove the inspiration behind our Austin brand photo session which Megan came all the way from Minnesota for!
That’s why there’s a mix of bed-shots, desk shots, some dirty laundry, and lots of socks, as well as headshots and content photos, of course.

Your ideal client and your super-power as a business owner will lead us in the decisions we make about your photo location, your personal brand wardrobe, the work items + props we tie in, the colors and overall mood we set, and even down to your expressions and poses. Your answer to questions like these will really inspire and narrow down the direction of your branding session.

Come check out this amazingly crafted fun-inspired branding session! Your personal branding photo session allows us the opportunity to feature what you do, who you are, and gives your clients/customers an idea of what it would be like to work with you or purchase from you.
Taylor’s personal branding photo session, photographed on location in East Austin earlier this year, is a great example of this.
These Austin lifestyle branding sessions take your “business photos” and make them personalized and unique to you, while also showing your audience what the day-to-day is like for you behind-the-scenes. The photos reflect you, the heart of your business, and what about your job brings you joy, so that you let them in on what you do and how you do it differently.
Today, people want to buy from business owners they like and know. That’s where branding lifestyle photography becomes such a great alternative to stiff corporate headshots.
Your business photos should grow with you and should highlight your unique traits and the person you are with or to your clients.
